If God is omniscient, omnipotent, and all-loving, then why does suffering exist? Indeed, this difficulty is confronted in scripture itself: perhaps the most important look into the problem of suffering comes in the Old Testament story of Job. The existence of human suffering poses a unique theological problem. Other elements like dramatic irony, in which the audience is privy to information that protagonists do not have access… elying on a non-linear plot, the filmmaker depended on the post-production crew to adequately convey the disjointedness of amnesia. For instance, Christopher Nolan's 2000 film Memento describes one man's struggle with memory degradation. Analyzing a movie must therefore include respect for the editorial prowess of the post-production crew.Įditors must be intimately familiar with the screenplay they work with, especially in films that do not have a linear narrative. When viewers finally see the film in the theater, the finished product reads like a cohesive narrative when in fact the filmmakers strung together disparate shots and cuts and combined them later after thousands of hours of painstaking labor. Faster-paced narrative parallels quicker-moving shots. The story is pure magic. There is a direct correlation with, say, Henry Hill's cocaine abuse and the increasingly rapid cuts between shots. Yes I understand that Ents speak in a slow and deliberate basso voice but my goodness this idea was taken 70,000 Ent strides too far. The twig that broke the camels back was the Treebeard dialogue. Gimli the dwarf is the loudest & most irritating Scotsman I could ever conjure. The gutteral Orc speech is way over the top. I hear Aragorn as a much more forceful character than this Narrator provides. My criticism involves the following: Aragorn 'whispers' or speaks with a downward breathy tone that to me sounds very undecided or morose. I chose this version based on stellar reviews and was looking forward to this performance. I love Tolkien & it is hard for me to admit defeat but this audio book was not my cup of mead.
